What school boards do:
The work of the school boards is classified into five major objectives:
- Vision
- Organizational structure
- Accountability
- Support
- Community leadership and advocacy
What School Boards Do Not Do:
- School Boards do not hire faculty
- School Boards do not engage with faculty other than at the Mission, Vision or policy level
- School Boards do not manage the district
- School Boards do not do the work of the superintendent
- School Boards do not engage in operations
- They do not make decisions on items brought up during “Items from the audience”. Items that require action must be on the agenda prior to the meeting.
