South Routt Schools - Mission Statement:
The mission of the South Routt School District is for all students to achieve their highest potential in academics, arts, and life skills. South Routt Schools will provide a healthy, safe, and positive school culture while preparing students to meet the challenges of the future.
The South Routt School community honors the history of our schools and community and meets the challenges of the future. By virtue of the creativity and excellence of our staff and modern resources, students are given the opportunity to learn. Teachers and staff appreciate the professional learning opportunities available and the collegial atmosphere embodied in our school culture.
Mindful of our history and where we live, we teach and learn life skills relevant to our community and the world beyond. Students, family, and staff collaborate to support a community of life-long learners. South Routt School students enjoy and excel in the academics, arts, and extracurricular activities. As a community, we recognize our civic responsibilities and commit to make sure every individual shares in a complete and diverse education and are provided the support needed to reach their highest potential.
Students and staff recognize the importance of formative assessments, as well as state assessments, and use the resulting data to attain the highest levels of achievement in the state. Notwithstanding these efforts, we maintain a culture that allows all students the freedom to experiment and learn from their failures on their path toward success. At the same time, teachers and staff seek out and apply the most effective instructional methods and tools available to engage our students and help them excel. School leaders nurture and support these efforts.
South Routt School students graduate with the skills to be leaders in an ever-changing world and to be successful in college, vocational education, or the work force. They excel in language, reading and writing, math, social studies, sciences, and the arts. Students appreciate the diversity of our society and the world, possess a high sense of responsibility, and hold themselves accountable for their actions.
