South Routt School District RE-3 is an Equal Opportunity Employer
This is an announcement about changes in the works to improve safe use of our parking lots on the Oak Creek Campus.  These changes are being made as a result of many discussions between central administration and Oak Creek Police Department.
  • One-way signs designate the roadway coming up to the High School from the highway as uphill only.  Reserved parking, handicap signs, etc.will be installed in the parking lot.
  • Students will be asked to park on the North or East sides of the High School.  Students will not be allowed to park in front (South side) of the school.  The front (South) parking lot will be marked / signs put up for faculty and visitor parking only.
  • The southern bus, fire-lane will be used for reserved bus parking as well as loading and unloading.  Other than school busses, no parking will be allowed in the fire-lane.
  • School faculty, school vehicles and school buses are NOT EXEMPT from the one way traffic changes.
The Oak Creek Police Department will enforce parking violations, one way traffic violations and bus/fire lane violations after we have informed students, staff, parents and the community of the changes and given everyone a chance to become familiar with these changes.  Warnings will be given for the first few offenses, or during a time period while everyone has a chance to become familiar with the changes, and then law enforcement will start issuing citations and/or towing vehicles if necessary.
Eventually, due to safety concerns, student drop off and pick up will be done on the North side of the High School and it will be marked / signs put up.  Students (of all ages) cross in front of buses.  Parents try to drop of their children, etc., in front (South side) of the school.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Travis Wixom or Darci Mohr.  Thank you for helping to get the word out.
